From the beginning, Nimble Tea Co. has been rooted in books, curiosity, and the belief that stories matter. This collaboration felt like a natural next chapter.
This collaboration brings together story and ritual, literature and tea, in a way that feels deeply aligned with why Nimble exists in the first place: to slow down, pay attention, and honor the stories that shape us.
The Book Behind the Blend
Written by indie author Ellen Gardner Gelerman, The Librarian’s Son is a powerful work of contemporary literary fiction that explores memory, identity, love, and the consequences of fear-driven communities.

When a young child speaks these words during footage of the 9/11 attacks, his parents are forced to confront an impossible possibility—that their son may be recalling a past life as a first responder who died in the Twin Towers with his partner. What unfolds is not just a meditation on life and death, but a deeply human story about family, community, and what happens when truth challenges comfort.
As the child’s memories draw unwanted attention in a small, conservative town, his mother—a youth librarian—becomes the target of an extremist group determined to control the narrative. The novel asks hard questions about fear, belonging, and how easily love can be mischaracterized when it doesn’t fit someone else’s rules.
Readers who appreciate thoughtful, socially engaged fiction—will find The Librarian’s Son both unsettling and deeply affirming.

This blend was created to be brewed slowly and sipped with intention. To accompany hard truths, late-night reading, and conversations that don’t fit neatly into soundbites. To remind us that imagination is worth protecting—and that tending to it, cup by cup, is part of the work.

Bio: Ellen Gardner Gelerman grew up on Long Island, New York and spent much of her adult life there. She received her BA in English in 1981 from Indiana University, Bloomington, leading to a long love of English Literature as well as a copywriting career in advertising and promotion. Beginning at Grey advertising in Manhattan and moving on to Newsday (Melville, NY) Ellen wrote television, radio, and print advertising copy as well as brochures and marketing scripts.
Though Ellen is retired from her formal career, writing is still her passion. A short story of hers appeared in The Road to Pemberley: An anthology of New Pride and Prejudice Stories (Ulysses Press, 2011). Her debut novel, The Book of Hannah: A Tragicomedy in Three Trimesters (2019), won the 2021 NYC big book award in the Chick-Lit category. Her second novel, The Hand of Miriam, was released in 2023. Hannah and her daughters, the sequel to The Book of Hannah, was published in 2024. In September 2025, she released her 4th novel The Librarian's Son.
Ellen and her husband, Roy, who have two adult children, currently live in Michigan with their dogs. Ellen teaches Zumba for the fun of it and volunteers as a political activist because the times demand it.
Erin Rae is the founder of Nimble Tea Co. and the creator of The Kind Bus, a whimsical bookmobile devoted to community, imagination, and keeping stories moving. She blends teas inspired by books, creativity, and everyday wonder—each one helping support the mission of The Kind Bus. When she’s not brewing something new, she’s usually reading, dreaming, or helping fellow creatives bring their ideas to life.
